Since 2010, the main focus for the WGY has been the Access! project which aims to give young people in Europe who are involved in music a voice in their future. As part of the Access! project, which is supported by the Youth in Action Programme, the WGY developed the Manifesto for Youth and Music in Europe which attempts to highlight the issues surrounding youth in the field of music and try to make positive changes throughout Europe and beyond. Following the 4th IMC World Forum on Music, The WGY will present the Manifesto at the Committee of Culture and Education of European parliament. The outcomes of this session will form the basis for the WGY discussion with the European Parliament.
During the presentation the WGY members, who moderated the session together, asked participants to share their views on the Manifesto, to share examples of good and bad practise in their countries and to suggest ideas on how to implement the Manifesto.
